About

ICB (Inter Connected Businesses) Group is a privately held research and technology holdings company founded in 2010 and based in Brisbane, Australia. ICB is structured as a parent system whose primary function is the design, maintenance, and composition of general-purpose abstractions. Operational realization of these abstractions is delegated to subsidiary entities.

In general, ICB operates across domains including computation, data systems, software engineering, and creative production. Rather than optimizing for any single vertical, ICB maintains a domain-agnostic stance, allowing abstractions developed within the group to be instantiated across heterogeneous technical and organizational contexts. Partnerships with academic and industrial institutions serve as channels for validation, extension, and scaling of these abstractions.

Abstractions

An abstraction is defined as any unit characterized by specified inputs, outputs, and transformation rules. Under this definition, abstractions may take the form of software systems, hardware systems, protocols, workflows, or corporate entities.

ICB treats abstractions as first-class objects. The parent organization is responsible for their formulation, formal coherence, and interoperability. Once an abstraction is realized within a concrete operational context, it is instantiated as a subsidiary and evaluated independently of the parent abstraction space.

ICB Intelligent eXchange (ICB IX)

The ICB Intelligent eXchange (ICB IX) is a general-purpose abstraction layer that serves as the foundational substrate for ICB operations. ICB IX coordinates computation, data movement, and execution across heterogeneous environments without reliance on centralized control or singular points of failure.

ICB IX defines a unified substrate over which application interfaces, execution workflows, data persistence, and content distribution may be composed. Nodes within the system may include general-purpose servers, embedded systems, workstations, or datacenter infrastructure. Any network-addressable system may participate as a node.

The resulting structure is a federated environment in which redundancy and fault tolerance emerge as properties of composition rather than external enforcement.
